Big Sky Fourth of July Parades & Rodeos

People in Montana take their Independence Day festivities seriously. If you have a patriotic streak and enjoy a good time in the mountains, mark the date. There are four rodeos taking place in and around Big Sky from July 2-4, 2008.

Red Lodge, MT: The Home of Champions Rodeo, July 2-4, is part of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association circuit and brings nearly all the national champions to Red Lodge, MT every year. Livingston, MT: The Livingston Roundup Rodeo is a three day rodeo extravaganza, July 2-4, with ropers and riders from across the U.S. and Canada. Since 1924 the Livingston Roundup has entertained generations with its all-American cowboy tradition and fireworks each night. Ten thousand visitors can't be wrong. Ennis, MT: Ennis consistently provides one of the most exciting and challenging rodeo in the state. Winnings count toward state rodeo level, attracting top cowboys and cowgirls, and top stock. For more information, call 406-682-4700.

White Sulphur Springs, MT: The Annual Ranch Rodeo, July 4, includes team roping, branding, pasture doctoring, hide race, bareback rescue race, barrel racing and ribbon roping. All events are timed, not judged. Parade is at 11am on Main Street, and rodeo events start at 1:30pm at the Meagher County Rodeo Grounds.
