This summer festival includes orchestra, chamber music, and performances by young artists as well as nationally known musicians and internationally acclaimed soloists. Performances take place against a variety of dramatic mountain backdrops.

Celebrating 22 years of classical music in the San Juan Mountains, Music in the Mountains runs on selected nights from July 11 to Aug. 3. Bringing world-famous performers and up-and-comers to Durango for a three-week festival, featuring events at Durango Mountain Resort and in the town, Durango Mountain Resort and Music in the Mountains host the fan favorite Pop's Night, with themes ranging from Big Band to Broadway. Family, children and free concerts are also part of the event, introducing youth to the wonders of classical music.
