Sawyer Park: A lovely city park with numerous rock formations along the Deschutes River with picnic and BBQ pits available. The trail along the river is used by bikers, hikers, and runners alike. Travel north on Highway 97 and turn left at the stop light at O.B. Riley Road. Travel north for about one-quarter mile, and turn left into the park. The parking area is closed seasonally, but the park can still be accessed using roadside parking along O.B. Riley.

Drake Park: Bend's signature municipal park, right on the Deschutes River, features the much-photographed Mirror Pond. One of Bend's most popular al fresco eating spots, either for lunch or a summer evening barbecue.
