Take Hold Of Summer At Sun Peaks

Summer can be quick as a blink in southern British Columbia, and Canadians embrace the warm days with the same fervor they reserve for winter skiing. Sun Peaks is about 45 minutes from Kamloops and a little more than four hours from Vancouver. Things quiet down in summer but an active Mountain Biking park and other summer activities keep people coming. Many bus tours headed from Jasper and the Canadian Rockies to Vancouver take the half-hour detour off the Yellowhead Highway to Sun Peaks just to see the sights, and they are never disappointed.

Kamloops is a regional hub for the Thompson-Okanagan tourist region and many visitors base their trip to Sun Peaks from there. Kamloops Airport is serviced by two airlines, and there are regular shuttles from other BC resorts.

The Kamloops area augments Sun Peaks with plenty of summer activities for adventure lovers of every kind. Check out the main Tourism BC Travel InfoCentre (250-374-3377) on the Trans-Canada Highway.
