The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail (ASH-oo-will-ti-cook) is an 11-mile paved trail on the former railroad corridor of the Pittsfield/Cheshire line to Adams. It is a perfect place for biking, jogging, in-line skating, or just a pleasant stroll. For more information, call the local office of the Dept. of Conservation and Recreation: 413-442-8928.

Jiminy Peak offers lift-served mountain biking. The trails are both single track and downhill cruisers, and some experience with mountain biking is necessary. The Grand Slam chairlift will operate for access to the lower mountain from 11am-6pm on weekends beginning Memorial Day Weekend through mid June and then daily through Labor Day Weekend. The Berkshire Express chairlift to the summit, for access to the entire mountain, will operate from 12pm-5pm, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, beginning July 5 through mid Oct.
The 50 miles of trails in the Pittsfield State Forest (413-442-8928) can be reached from the summit.
