Fire Up the Oven, It's Time to Make Chili

Perched nearly a mile high in the Alleghenies of West Virginia, summer temperatures rarely reach 80 degrees in Snowshoe. Unless they're making chili, that is.

Snowshoe Mountain turns up the heat for the 17th Annual Fire on the Mountain Chili Cook-off July 11 to 13. Along with great live entertainment and fun and games, they have earmarked more than $12,000 in cash and prizes to award the top chili cooks. Friday they're serving up Green & Salsa and Saturday is the day for Red! Live entertainment with the Road Hounds and a great After Chili Party when all the cooking and judging is done.
